Matt helped me through the process of buying my first home. Going in to the process I thought I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and what buying a home is like - but it wasn't "quite" as simple as I thought. Matt may be the most patient person I know; he's completely open to hearing what you have to say and continues to listen whole heartedly when the next day you're saying something completely different. This ain't his first rodeo and he seems to understand the flip flopping first time buyers go through. He seemed to always be available for my questions and sync ups when I was feeling under water.
Throughout the whole process I felt like Matt had my back and he even caught an error in the closing documents that no one else saw that saved me a bunch of money. I felt like Matt knew what was going on at all times in the closing process so I was confident he wasn't going to let me miss any deadlines and we ended up finalizing in record time. I couldn't recommend him enough for anyone looking for some peace of mind when buying a home!

Matt helped me to buy my first home in an incredibly daunting seller's market. If I had to do it again, I'm honestly not sure that I would, given how stressful it was, but I was glad to have Matt helping me through the year-long process. He has the patience of a saint. If not for his reassurances and gentle nudging, I probably still wouldn't have a house. Most of the single family homes in my price range were older and had fairly major problems. I relied on Matt's expertise and background in construction to understand the scope of the problems and how I should factor them into my offers. When it was clear that I was getting priced out of the Ballard/Phinney areas, Matt suggested looking in other neighborhoods. I ended up buying in a great part of West Seattle and was able to stay within my initial budget. I am happy to recommend Matt, especially to first-time home buyers in need of some extra hand-holding.

Before the sidewalk ends, up a magic staircase and set back from the quiet street is this adorable 1940’s Roxhill home, ready for summer entertaining with an expansive veranda/deck that wraps around the house highlighting the spacious yard. Nestled in West Seattle and elegantly landscaped around an aged cherry tree this property holds the heart of a 1940’s farmhouse with all modern amenities.
Matt Martel helped us sell our house and buy a new one. He listened carefully to what we needed (both in the selling and buying) and was an incredible help at every stage of the journey. Matt is fun to work with, and he made our house sale and search very enjoyable.
He is very customer-focused and knowledgeable about real estate. He took great care in all the paperwork and negotiation and was a great advocate for us. Most important, he helped us succeed in all our goals to sell our home, and purchase a new home with all the criteria we were looking for.
We would work with Matt again in a heartbeat - but we are so happy with our new home that won't be for a long time! If you are trying to find a good agent, look no further!

I found Matt Martel online through yelp and other reviews, and he helped me find and navigate my first real estate purchase. I closed and moved into my new condo after a few months of search and am absolutely thrilled - I cannot recommend Matt highly enough!
Matt was patient, highly knowledgeable about Seattle (has lived here for many years and lived in several areas of the city), Seattle real estate, and the ins-and-outs of buying homes, and was incredibly flexible and accommodating in scheduling viewings. Because I don't have a car, I was completely dependent on Matt for transportation in my condo hunt -- so we went on perhaps a dozen half-day long treks all across the city, and he was terrific about this. He was patient with my changing my mind about offers and generous in giving detailed feedback and notes in reading through HOAs (which he has great expertise in reviewing) and contracts, pointing me in a good direction with lenders, helping set realistic expectations throughout the process, and basically guided me through every step of the way.
Going through the first home-buying process by myself, I felt tremendously grateful for his guidance. He was professional and responded quickly whether by email or text. Also important to me was the fact that he put absolutely no pressure on me and provided information in an even-handed, non-judgmental, manner, and was unfazed by several course-changes in what I was looking for. Moreover, he is highly attentive to detail, so much so that on several occasions, a buyer's agent commented on his eagle eye (e.g., counter height being ADA instead of standard height). Bottom line - I can't imagine having a more positive experience and recommend him without reservation to anyone looking to buy in this stressful market. Thanks Matt!

Matt was recommended to us by a work colleague and he provided excellent service from the beginning of the process and continues to, well after closing. We highly recommend Matt without any reservations.
Our experience began with Matt sitting down with us and talking through the home buying process as well as the current realities of the Seattle market. Based on our input (budget, ideal home, ideal location), Matt provided ideas on neighborhoods that might fit our wants/needs and what type of home we might expect to find within our budget. To start, we spent approximately two days looking in each of the neighborhoods we selected and checking out listings while Matt spent time talking about the pros/cons of the different things we saw in each house/community. We were very indecisive home shoppers, so we definitely tested Matt's knowledge about local communities and types of homes, and were never disappointed with his responses.
Most important to us, Matt was always honest with us about what he thought about each property, was always available and helpful, and we always felt that he truly had our best interests at heart. Even now, more than a month after closing, he still cheerfully recommends contractors and other service providers when we contact him looking for suggestions as we complete work on our home.
In the future, if we ever decide to move, we will definitely use Matt again to both sell our home and find a new one.
